Whether you are obtaining a Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insured loan or not, a condominium being "FHA Approved" reflects an important standard in real estate. The FHA requires, among other standards, that a condo Association have a good financial footing. And, that benefits both buyers and sellers.
FHA approval is only granted when the condo has been declared and exists in full compliance with applicable State law; has sufficient hazard and liability insurance; has no more than 15% of the total units in arrears (more than 30 days past due) of their condominium association fee payments; and is at least 50% owner-occupied.

As reported in The New York Times on May 27, 2012, "walkability" is adding value to real estate. According to a Brookings Institution study "...research shows that real estate values increase as neighborhoods became more walkable, where everyday needs, including working, can be met by walking, transit or biking." It went on to state "People are clearly willing to pay more for homes that allow them to walk rather than drive."
We're not saying your home value is guaranteed to go up higher than other more isolated condos, but as the report went on to say "...the market gets what it wants, and the market signals are flashing pretty brightly...more walkable, and bikable places."
